We were assigned wet suits, flippers, and goggles according to size. Experience: Professional, and really, really funny. Didn't see much color in the reef, which was disappointing, but a huge reminder that we need to cut down on carbon emissions! Boat: Clean, spacious, comfortable and very safe (floats equipped at every corner) Breakfast: Cinnamon rolls and 4-5 types of fresh fruit Lunch: DIY fresh sandwich spread, 3 types of bread, 3-4 types of ham, 2 types of cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pasta salad, 2 types of mayonnaise, and plenty of drinks. and more that saw me but I didn't see! Coral was mostly brown, green and some purple. turtles became the new American celebrity) Fish, crustaceans, coral: Black Durgon, Long-nose Butterflyfish, Pennant Butterflyfish, Moorish Idol, Reef Triggerfish, Brassy Chub, Pufferfish, Filefish, Cleaner Wrasse (on turtles), Parrot fish, Needlefish, Sea urchin, Starfish. Tour guides: Kiki and Andrew Mammals seen: 2-3 whales surfacing, 0 dolphins (my partner said he saw 4-5) Turtles seen: 5 Turtles (other passengers saw 7 or more, because they pushed me away to get pictures. Redline was faster and carried only a fraction of the people. Watching the other boats with their huge complement of passengers, was more than enough reinforcement that we made the right decision. While the snorkelers were in the water looking at turtles, Kiki set out a very nice cold cut lunch spread with drinks. Next stop was La Perouse Bay and then we went to turtle town. We were able to enjoy about a six foot ride from the top to lowest point. The elevator is a section along the cliff were you can get close to the island and the tide will raise you up and down without worry of being pushed into the rocks. The wall drop off was impressive and riding "the elevator" was a new experience. After snorkeling the inside of the horseshoe, we were given cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit for a snack while traveling to the back side. I had gone on other Maui based snorkel trips in the past, but this one was the best by far. When we checked in, free coffee was available and we were give short wet-suits to wear. My wife, two boys and I went on a morning snorkel trip with Redline Rafting company on.
